A few weeks ago we were discussing backwards masking etc. There actually was a record that plays backwards - you stick the needle on the inside of the disc, near the label, and it plays outward to the edge. I guess you have to catch the needle before it falls off the record. The record was an EP by Flo & Eddie (Mark Volman & Howard Kaylan, formerly of The Turtles) using the name "Checkpoint Charlie" to express their interest in experimental German bands of the time, i.e. Kraftwerk. It was packaged to look just like a German import, with most of the printing in German... | | | Oh that reminds me >>something newbatten<< | | << Neu >> is pronounced "noy" not "noo" ... | | | Back to Checkpoint Charlie, instead of getting a bunch of expensive synthesizers, Flo & Eddie used a Casio VL-Tone, augmented by various zapping sounds from plastic toys.
