[net.micro.pc] Yes, Unix for PC

knudsen (11/18/82)

Yes, Virginia (I forget your name), there is a very good Unix clone
called QUNIX avaiable for the IBM PC from an outfit in Canada
(I forget their name too, but can dig it up upon request).
A finicky member of my Dept has used it for months and sez it is very
complete and stable (bug-free).  I don't think he's used any off IBM's
software since he got QUNIX.

For other machines, there are two systems named FLEX and OS-9.
The latter is for Motorola 6809-based systems;
the first includes 6800 also,I believe. The only 6809 PC I know
of is the Radio Shack Color Computer, actually a very nice box
for the money. Some versions of FLEX and/or OS-9 are sold specifically
for it. Don't laugh till you've checked out the peripherals in
the Shack's latest computers-only catalog.
