[net.micro.pc] cpm compatible pc

vax2:sota (04/01/83)

Several manufacturers of peripheral cards for the IBM PC, and also
manufacturers of PC compatible machines offer a Z-80 card and
allege CP/M compatibility. I would be interested in the experiences of
any users who have such equipment and what, if any, CP/M compatibility
	problems they encountered.

Are there speed or performance tradeoffs associated with operation in
CP/M? Is there much software available in a suitable format for these
machines? Do the hardware manufacturers support the CP/M; i.e. well
debugged BDOS, BIOS source listings, etc. Is CP/M 3.0 supported, which
would allow utilization of more than just 64K of RAM?

I would appreciate any and all comments. If there is sufficient
interest, I will post a summary to the NET.
