From: Mike Simpson <msimpson@bbnccd> I have heard it said that MINCE, an EMACS-like text editor from Mark of the Unicorn, is the best one around for microcomputer use. I envision doing a lot of letter-writing, spreadsheet work and cataloging on a micro in the near future, and am at the moment torn between purchasing an IBM PC/XT and an Apple IIe. Therefore, I have two questions to cast upon the waters of "net.micro"-land: 1) If you have used MINCE on micros, particularly IBM or Apple, did you find yourself ecstatic, satisfied, dissatisfied, or cursing-the-day-you-bought-it? 2) Have you come across a text editor for either machine that you feel is superior to MINCE and interfaces with a decent text formatter? I will summarize for the net, of course. -- cheers, Mike Simpson Bolt Beranek and Newman Inc.
