Late in 1983 "Murrey Hill" in New York issued box sets (5 disks) of the old recordings of The Cadillacs, and Sonny Til & The Orioles. This included most (if not all) of their commercial recordings as well as many unreleased sides. These were nice sets for a collector like myself but if the truth be known the recordings of these groups has been reissued many times over in various formats. Now, just very recently the same company has released a box set (4 disks) of The Solitaires. It includes all of The Solitaires realeased and unreleased recordings complete with a pamphlet which has complete discogrophies and documentation. This is truly a classic. The Solitaires recordings have never before been reissued (to the best of my knowledge). Murrey Hill even borrowed one of the Relic label's tricks and issued the disks on the original "Old Town" label. This release is a great treat for anyone interested in listening to the sound of one of New York City's finest street corner singing groups from the early to late fifties.
