	Although I have no experience with this particular
  add on board, I was able to add a 256K ram board to 
  a PC/XT recently (after populating the mother board first).
  The first thing to check is that the switches are correct (both
  on the mother board and on the add on ram board.  The mother
  board switch1 positions 3 and 4 should both be OFF.  The ram 
  board switches should be set to respond to the address range
  40000H-7FFFFH (256K-512K).  Note that if it worked in a 64K 
  machine before, the switches are probably set to show up in the 
  range 10000H-4FFFFH (64K-320K).  If the machine still hangs
  during power on, watch the CRT for clues as to where the hangup
  occurs.  The new boot/self test roms display the current block
  of memory being tested (or the last block that passed - I'm not
  sure which).

        I know this ain't much, but it is worth a try...
