I have a Hercules graphics board for my IBM PC. Everything works as I would expect, but I can hear a faint chirping noise coming from the speaker whenever the screen is changing. I am serious - others will verify I am not imagining it. This happens whether I am using text or graphics mode, although it is a little worse in graphics. I took it to the local Computerland and they said they have heard it in a few others and not to worry about it. I am willing to do that, since everything is working fine, but I'm still a bit worried that some subtle timing or coupling problem isn't at fault that might get worse when I add more option cards someday. All I have now is the Hercules and the floppy controller cards. I didn't buy the standard mono adapter board so I can not test whether it causes chirping too. Any comments?
