This is really for romkey@mit-csr, but I can't seem to send mail directly to him so I am posting my reply here. Re: Not having a 'mkfs' type of capability under MS-DOS... I'm not sure if this is available under PC-DOS (you never know what foolish differences there are between 'generic' and 'IBM' versions); but at least on a generic MS-DOS system there is a /c option to format (i.e. format/c or format -c) which "C"lears the disk structure.
