I have heard that Microsoft is picking up distribution and support for the Lattice C compiler. Can someone, perhaps at Microsoft, answer the following questions? 1. Is this true? 2. If so, will the Lattice compiler as such be discontinued? 3. Suppose I have a Lattice compiler? Will I be able to buy an inexpensive upgrade from Microsoft? 4. If both compilers will continue, how will they differ?

Yes, Microsoft is distributing the Lattice C compiler -- I own one. The main difference between the two sources of the compiler is that Microsoft sells their's with a librarian (moderately useful). Lifeboat Associates is still selling the Lattice C compiler with no plans to stop any time soon -- in fact, they sent me a letter the other day asking me to buy one.... -- skip addison {allegra, rlgvax, akgua, emory}!gatech!skip
