From: b-davis@utah-cs (Brad Davis) For any of you that have been worried about the fact that some user of your PC-XT will reformat the hard disk instead of a floppy here is a patch to FORMAT.COM that will give an error exit if no drive is specified. This will only work in the IBM FORMAT.COM (though I would think that it would not be hard to do the same for other systems). This may also be good for those of us that sometimes forget what we may be doing. The ????: segment value depends on how your system is configured. All lines are terminated by a carriage return. C>DEBUG FORMAT.COM -A 17B ????:017B JMP 160 ????:017D NOP ????:017E NOP ????:017F NOP ????:0180 -W Writing 1780 bytes -Q C> Share and Enjoy, Brad Davis b-davis@utah-cs.ARPA
