[net.micro.pc] Do you own half-height drives?

geller@rlgvax.UUCP (David Geller) (12/19/83)

I've decided to take the plunge. I'll soon be purchasing an IBM Personal
Computer for some development work. I have decided to simply buy a 64K
PC and equip it with 2 half-height disk drives and the other necessary
components to turn it into a decent development system.

If you happen to have any information concerning some of the more popular
half-height disk drives for the IBM PC (Qume, Teac, Tandon, etc.) I'd like
to hear from you. I would also appreciate any references to magazine reviews
that you may have read on the matter. Information concerning the following
things would be helpful.

		- documentation
		- density
		- price
		- warranty period
		- noise

If enough of you respond I'll post a collection of the responses to the
net. Thanks in advance a great deal.

One last note:

A local computer store is giving away a free PCjr (Peanut) with the
purchase of a COMPAQ personal computer (Entre is the store). See the
Wash. Post Business Section page 21 (12/19/83)

One last Question:

What type of half-height drives are in the PCjr?

Thanks again.
