Here is a quick fix for FORMAT on DOS 2.0 to prevent accidental nuking of the fixed disk. debug format.com -d 7c7 l1 XXXX:07C7 74 <debug responds with this> -e 7c7 72 -w -q This changes a jump condition so that FORMAT responds: Insert drive C and strike any key when you try to format the fixed disk. Typing control-c or break will then cancel the format (non-believers can turn the PC off to be sure). A bizarre way to "fix" the problem, but it works. -- "Roy J.
