[net.micro.pc] Modem Program and termcap for PC?

jwc062@uofm-cv.UUCP (01/18/84)

--
I am looking for two things.
  1) A public domain modem7 like program for the IBM PC
  2) A termcap for the PC using MSDOS 2.0 and ansi.sys. I tried vt100
with only some success. It might be nice if it also downloaded
the cursor key definitions for use with vi.

Please post to net.sources or send me a pointer. Thank-you.

I should issue a caveat on the termcap just reposted:
it only works for DOS (PC-DOS, MS-DOS) versions 2.00 and higher,
and then only when the ANSI.SYS file (which allows DOS to support
the ANSI X3.64 terminal standard) has been "installed"
(see chapter 13 of the DOS 2.00 manual).

Maybe this was stated when the termcap was first posted
(funny -- I never saw it, and I've sure been looking for one),
but this might save people running DOS 1.1 a lot of aggravation and futitity.

I have a termcap for the PC running DOS 1.1 (and later versions)
that "almost works"; I will post it when it's really working.

there is a very good terminal emulator program called "PC-TALK"
which is a "Freeware" type program-i.e. you can copy it, if you like
it you send the author a contribution. The address is:
