"Filepath Utility": to run MS-DOS 1.x programs under DOS 2.x.
We recently bought, for
*** $14.45 ***
(including shipping) a program that allows you to run DOS 1.x
programs that use data files, configuration files, libraries,
and the like, and put the files in another directory. You run
"FP" as a utility and specify a search path just as in the
current "PATH" command. Example:
FP B:;\DATA;\BIN
which searches for a file first in the current directory, then
on the Ramdisk (B: drive), then in a system data-files directory,
and finally in the commands directory (some programs want their
files in the same dir as they run out of...).
It comes with a professionally prepared man page. At $14, it's an
exceptional buy; people who do this stuff should be supported.
