According to the April issue of PC World:

The PCjr is assembled by Teledyne, not IBM, from parts that come
mostly from non-IBM sources. The interesting thing is that
the chairman of Teledyne, Henry Singleton, is on the Apple board
	of directors.

hhmmm...

Also in the April issue is a look at 40 pc compatibles, complete with a
6 page foldout chart that shows the typical configuration of each system
including list price. They "tested" most computers that claim to be ibm-pc
compatible, or that use the Intel 808x (or 8018x) processors, or that use
some version of MS-DOS. The reason for including those machines that are
not claimed to be compatable by "their makers" is that the systems can
sometimes read/write pc disks or will benifit from the pc software explosion.
