These give step-by-step details for diagnosing problems. The title on the binder of these books is "Hardware Maintenance and Service." They come with an "Advanced Diagnostics" disk and with RS-232 and printer "wrap plugs" to test the comm and printer adapters. Another possible source of information (which I have not used) is "How to repair and maintain your own IBM PC/XT" from Personal Systems Publications, PO Box 90754, Los Angeles, CA 90009. The price is $19.95 including postage and handling for a 200-page manual.
