PC-WRITE is quite good, but Compaq users should be warned that there are some very minor incompatibilities. Specifically, Shift-PgUp and -PgDn do not do a screen up or down as they ought. This (and something else I can't recall) are the only problems I have had. I should note that I am using PC-WRITE on a Compaq and am very satisfied with the combination. Ittt is my word processor of choice. The price is right, but the price, like the plumage, don't enter into it. As I noted in ecsvax.2513, there are some incompatibilities between PC-WRITE and the Compaq PC. The only two I have noted are the fact that Shifted PgUp and PgDn do not work as advertised and entering character 12 (form feed) with Alt and the numeric keypad does not work. These are VERY minor problems with easy work-arounds. They occur because PC-Write is playing with the keyboard scan codes which are somewhat incompatible between the IBM PC and the Compaq. I want to reemphasize that these are minor problems, and I'm very happy with both PC-WRITE and the Compaq. Anyone who buys the IBM portable PC has my sympathy. Good luck, D Gary Grady, Duke U Comp Ctr Durham, NC 27701 ...{decvax,ihnp4,akgua,etc.}!mcnc!ecsvax!dgary
