The May 8th issue of PC WEEK has a article about the public domain screen save programs like; monoblank,monitorblank,screensave that cause the monochrome monitor to burn up transformers. The authors are aware of it and are modifing their code so be sure you have a new version or son't use them until youare unless you have lots of transformers. The basic problem is in the way they blank the screen and don't rewrite the 6845 screen driver. Free programs may cost you in the long run so buyer beware even when it's free. Dbaker@usc-ecla -------
