From: L. Brett Glass <G.GLASS@[36.48.0.1]> The simplest way to avoid hanging up when exiting BASIC is to turn off the switch in your modem which causes it to be sensitive to DTR. If you can't do that (either because your modem doesn't have the switch or because you need it on for other purposes), perhaps the best thing to do is to access the serial ports via assembly language.
