At the Engineering Psychology Research Lab at the University of
Illinois, we do real-time programming to run psychological
experiments. We're switching to IBM PC's and are more or less decided
about using Pascal as our programming language. However, we're not
sure which Pascal compiler we should use. All the reviews we've seen
don't tell us what we need to know.

Some of our main concerns are:

	- Maximum code size allowed -- most compilers seem to be limited
to 64k program space, and unlimited data space.

	- Does the compiler handle memory management with overlays?
Can we control when overlays get swapped? (We have to be in
total control. No funny business allowed.)

	- Speed -- we do lots of graphics manipulation all the time,
so we need a compiler that produces FAST code.

	- 8087 support a must (for speed, of course)

	- Assembly language interfacing. It's got to be possible and
hopefully simple. (Is there a "Standard" protocol for
parameter passing? Many companies claim their method is
	  standard, but who knows?)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Please respond via
mail.
