I got about 20 requests for copies of this, so I'm posting it. Thanks much to the person who sent it to me (I'm not sure if this person wanted to be publicly identified...) Well, here it is at long last. The publishing information is: "Dropkick Me, Jesus" recorded by Bobby Bare on *The Winner and Other Losers* (C) RCA Records, 1976. Chorus: Dropkick me, Jesus, through the goalposts of life End over end, neither left nor to right Straight through the heart of them righteous uprights Dropkick me, Jesus, through the goalposts of life Make me, oh, make me, Lord, more than I am Make me a piece in your master game plan Free from the earthly tempestion below I've got the will, Lord, if you've got the toe Chorus Bring on the brothers who've gone on before And all of the sisters who've knocked on your door And all the departed dear loved ones of mine Stick 'em up front in the offensive line Chorus, chorus Dropkick me, Jesus, through the goalposts of life End over end, neither left nor to right I know "tempestion" makes no sense whatever, but I listened three times, and that definitely is what he says. I can only figure it's supposed to be a cross between tempestuousness and temptation. Any way, enjoy! -- UUCP: ...ucbvax!dual!lll-crg!dragon ARPA: monica.cellio@cmu-cs-cad or dragon@lll-crg
