The response to the initial article has been overwhelming, but the summaries are in the mail. For those who asked questions: YES, I HAVE 200 VOLUMES OF PUBLIC DOMAIN SOFTWARE. Since Flippies count as two, it works out to about 120 disks. I haven't counted programs, but the disks are all packed so call it several thousand. The programs include many which are User-Supported. They encompass several languages (even include some compilers and interpreters) and almost every application. The disks were accumulated by the PC-SIG, I beleive in New Jersey, but that may be just one source, and are distributed usually on a rental basis (Rental is on an all or nothing basis) by a place called the National Public Domain Software Center in CA, which handles other libraries (CP/M, Apple) which I know nothing about. I bought the library intact, in part for the Harvard Computer Society, which I used to be a part of. I would be willing to do some small-scale distribution (although I'm not sure of what I should or need to charge -- although I realize it should be between break-even and net.flame) If you are interested in a short summary, or missed the original note, send $0.60 for copying and postage (it can be check, cash, or stamps - preferably interesting commemoratives - and $0.20 can be on an addressed envelope) to: Craig Werner 1935-14E Eastchester Rd. Bronx NY 10461 or comments by electronic mail. -- Craig Werner !philabs!aecom!werner What do you expect? Watermelons are out of season!
