From: Joel Seiferas <joel> My brand new IBM Enhanced Graphics Adapter doesn't work! Although I can boot and use the compatibility modes, I get four extraneous beeps (long; short, short, short) at the very start, even before the memory test. (Yes, my switches are set right.) Diagnostics version 2.07 reports a 2401 error every time. All this happens no matter which monitor I try to drive. The documentation says you cannot get by with a ROM dated "earlier than 10/27/82". The "brand new" ROM I bought for the occasion is dated *exactly* 10/27/82; can anyone confirm that this is really new enough? (Also, does anyone know just *why* a relatively new ROM is needed? My ROM upgrade kit did not include any update pages for the BIOS listing in the Technical Reference Manual.) If I ever get this adapter working, I will have the usual questions on how to use the thing. Has anyone figured out how to change to the new modes? (Do the very newest ROMs already have BIOS calls to do this??) Joel Seiferas joel@rochester
