[net.micro.pc] System 3 to PC Transfer

shaprkg@sdcrdcf.UUCP (Bob Shapiro) (12/04/84)

I have an old IBM System 3 and a PC with a hard disk. I have to send about
15 megabytes of information from the System 3 to the PC about every 4 months.
Can someone out there suggest to me the best way of doing this. The System 3
does have an RS232 port and so does the PC. The PC and the System 3 can be
placed within a few feet of each other.

I have heard some solutions which involve using an 8" disk to transfer the
data but that doesn't turn me on. I suspect that a 3270 emulation by the PC
is best but I don't understand all of what is involved.

The only other ground rule is that if any special software is to be
written it must be run on the PC not on the System 3.

   Please advise me by net-mail.

   Thanking you in advance,
