I have noticed that a few of you out there have purchased the
new IBM AT. Our offices here in Bloomington are planning the
same purchase but with much unwanted difficulty from the
University. It seems that the computer purchasing group on
campus has no authority (yet) to sell the AT. Therefore, all
of our inquiries to the Purchasing Department have led nowhere.
My question to those of you who own AT's is this: Other than
the software we intend to run and the peripherals we intend to
use, (we already have a Diablo printer, a monitor and the Hayes
modem -- Version 2.1 upgrade for the AT) what is necessary [as
far as hardware goes] to get the AT up and running fresh out of
the box??
It seems as though we will have to visit our local retail (ugh!)
merchant to price and/or select the necessary equipment.
