[] A friend told me about an article he read describing a device which allows backup of hard disks to a VCR. This device is *amazing*, and I am interested in getting more information, but he cannot remember who makes it or where the article appeared. He suspects it was in an issue of InfoWorld sometime in the past year. Anyways, here's a description: o The device is about the size of a pack of cigarettes o It plugs into a serial or parallel port o The other end plugs into the video input of a VCR o Software is provided for backing up disks o About 40 minutes required to back up a 10Mb disk o Advertised price is about $50 (!) Does anyone recognize this item? If so, can you answer the following? o Is the description above accurate? o If not, which parts aren't? o Who is the manufacturer? I'm having trouble believing this myself. It sounds too good to be true, but the person who told me about this (although his memory may not be perfect concerning the article) is certainly not fabricating it.
