Hi. I need some information on graphics cards for the IBM PC. We are interested in getting either the TECMAR graphics master or the Persyst BoB card. The monitor used will initially be a princton MAX-12. Information needed: What are the resolutions of the two cards. Do they need special software for IBM color graphic emulation. Will they support the MAX-12 monitor. Most important - which board would you recommend (and buy with your own money). I will summarize results to the net. Thanks in advance, /Leonard

This is a reposting of a request I made a while ago that got only 1 reply ! - (sorry I can't reply, but my machine doesn't know !cadre) We are thinking of purchasing the Tecmar graphics master display card for an ibm/xt. What is needed is comments on its compatability for software that use the color card. We intend to use this on a monochrome monitor. - is configuration of screen modes easy (software controlled or do jumpers have to be moved to change modes? - will it run PC-Plot, autocad, smartwork, dasoft circuit design software, flight simulator, night mission ( if it runs these, I guess it will run anything!) - what is the customer support like -- this leads to another problem (which is why I am posting these questions) In the Toronto area it is almost impossible to find a store that is willing to demonstrate any boards. Computerland, Computer innovations, etc. are unwilling to set up displays unless you first purchase the board (they claim they will refund fully if you don't like the board!) This is like buying a car from a magazine - they expect to stay in business? ...anyway, before I digress further.... Any other suggestions for a graphics board that has good resolution, doesn't flicker, provides gray levels to replace color on b/w monitor (not essential but would be nice), has a nice text font (like ibm mono card) and is *compatible* with software written for the color card ? Your suggestions, comments, and help will be greatly appreciated! If there is a response,I will summarize to the net (I can't be the only person lost in the maze of ibm add on boards) thanks /Leonard
