[net.micro.pc] Looking for TCP-IP for the IBM PC

pml@usl.UUCP (Patrick Landry) (01/16/85)

If anyone out there has already received the TCP-IP software for the
PC from MIT and is attending one of the conferences next week in Dallas
I would love to get a copy from you. I have a couple of things which you
may be able to use also. I obviously would be willing to replace the
diskette. This idea just dawned on me so if you read this too late to
respond to me please bring the diskette anyway. I'm attending Uniforum
and there is usually a message board set up there. Thanx for reading this
and hopefully I'll see one of you in Dallas.

      1. If you want the MIT IP/TCP software for the IBM PC, you are
supposed to get it from MIT. Send mail to SALTZER@MIT-MC for
	  information.

      2. Network Research Corporation is soon to release IP/TCP for the
IBM PC as an option for their Fusion package. NRC has true FTP,
which MIT does not, and NRC suppports both user and server sides of
IP/TCP, which MIT does not. The price will be $750, and you need a
	  3COM Ethernet card.

      3. Spartacus Corp. has a commercialized version of the MIT package
for sale; they also sell an interface box that ties large IBM
	  mainframes to IP/TCP Ethernets.
