We purchased Manx's Aztec C compiler for the IBM/PC a while back. They sent two versions: 1.06d - a supposedly tried and tested version; and 2.20b - a beta version. This latter version apparently hauls ass in terms of optimization, doing a lot of neat things like register tracking, and automatically using short jumps when possible, etc. What I'm wondering is what bugs have been found with this version. Manx hasn't yet released the real version of this compiler. And they couldn't (wouldn't?) tell me what bugs they have found. If anyone is using this compiler, I would appreciate if you would let me know how it works for you. Specifically, any problems that I should be aware of. I know, for example, that there is a problem converting Aztec compiled/assembled files into Microsoft format (via their utility 'obj'). Anything else? If there are enough responses, I will summarize and post here. "It ain't necessarily so" ken bass linus!faron!kbb
