[net.micro.pc] Help with drive designators

gino@sdchema.UUCP (Eugene G. Youngerman) (02/14/85)

I have a compaq desk-pro with two floppy disk drives.

I wanted to run Superdrive (tm) on the machine, and
had to lie to the hardware, and make it think that there
were three diskdrives. So now I can run superdrive on
drive c:, which of course speeds things up.

It would be nice to load a program, specifically
Wordstar(tm) on superdrive, and run it there.

This works fine, except when I try to edit using the
logged drive command on wordstar. If this is done,
wordstar automatically assumes that it is in drive a:,
and that the editing files are in whatever the logged
drive is. This of course, effectively negates the value of
     superdrive.

I see two possible (passable) solutions.
	  1) rename superdrive as drive a:. This turns off
my drive a:, so I become effectively a one drive
	      machine
	  2) Change the default drive on wordstar to c:
	      I haven't yet tried this.

Any body got any suggestions?

Thanks in advance GINO
