I have a Tandy 2000 with Videotex Plus communications software. TERM=ibm-pc and TERM=ansi come close to working correctly but not close enough to make vi or emacs usable. Does anyone have a working termcap that they can send me? I have also tried simterm and kermit (pc version) neither of which work. I tried to uucp the kermit package from ok-state following the instructions posted to the net several weeks ago but was unable to make it work. If anyone has versions of these which work on the Tnady 2000 I would be grateful if you could send them to me. Thanks.

(one of the sad non-features of this terminal type is that there is no standout mode [inverse video]) By the way... have you ever tried uploading files with Vidtex?? It seems it does not know what the meaning of EOF is it just goes back to the top of the file and sends it again and again ... ... Till you interrupt it. That package has all kinds of holes in it, or at least the last version I saw for the 2000 did. Ron@men1 (Ron Flax) MTACCS Engineering Network ..!{seismo,umcp-cs}!{prometh,cal-unix}!men1!ron

VideoTex software (and CompuServe VIDTEX) all use ESC i as an interrogate code to the micro.

A friend of mine has re-written msxibm.asm and msyibm.asm and has a version of Kermit V2.27 which runs on the Tandy 2000. He is planning to send this to Columbia as soon as he writes some documentation. It supports most features of the IBM version, including multiple text pages, set key options, etc. It is not interrupt driven, however, so it will probably not work at faster than 2400 baud, although we have not tried it. If you want a pre-release version of these two modules, let me know. I will not send the rest of the files, you must get those yourself.
