This may have been asked before but I missed it.
Can anyone tell me what the program shutdown.exe does (i.e. what functions
does it perform).
The program is on my diagnostics disk for my AT but I can find no
documentation for it; nor can a dealer I asked. The dealer tied into
IBM's database and could not find shutdown using a keyword search.
The program seems to park the fixed disk head, lock the keyboard, and
display a cute graphics that shows the power switch being turned off.
Can anyone tell me just what functions the program is performing? I am
not proficient enough to use debug to analyze the program.
Any help would be appreciated.
Pleae reply by uucp mail or the net -- I will summarize information and
post.
Thanks

Mind you I'm only speculating but I would think you have it right on the money. The program probably just parks the disk head in a safe zone and locks the keyboard. Geller
