I've got a problem : I have a set of programs which use sound generation on the Texas Instruments Professional PC, and I'd like to convert them to the IBM PC. The trouble is, the TI Pro has very nice ROM BIOS software interrupts to set the sound frequency, the duration, to turn the speaker on and off, and to test whether a sound is done or not. The IBM PC seems to have no such BIOS entries. I'd like some advice : what's the easiest way to perform each of the above operations on a standard vanilla IBM PC? Do I read/write direct to/from the chip or what? Where is it? Is there and help in the ROM? Assistance, especially in the form of examples, is solicited.
