Greetings - some of my administrative cohorts need some info regarding the IBM PC/AT. They were thinking of purchasing several of these beasts for doing some of their administrivia. Alas, they have heard disquieting rumours about "bad spots on the disk." Now I suspect that they are referring to bad disk blocks, or some such, but I can't get anything more technical out of them. None-the-less, they have heard some real horror stories and were wondering if the Net might help them out. If you could provide any insight into this I would appreciate your *mailing* me a reply - I don't regularly read this newsgroup. Also, what do you know about IBM's networking system (SNA???) The outfit that is trying to get at my colleagues' money keeps mumbling things about tying the AT's together but they seem somewhat hard to pin down. Thanks in advance (for all the fish!) Cheers...
