Anyone using the Graphics Development Toolkit?
[]

I have come into possession of a bit of software from IBM called the
Graphics Development Toolkit. Included is a set of drivers for devices
called camera, joystik, mouse, plotter, metafil, and others; large
libraries for Basic, Fortran, Pascal, and (an exceedingly finicky) Macro
Assembler; and a rather thick manual. The version I have is intended for
use with the EGA. The core of this toolkit is a standard IBM has dubbed
the "Virtual Device Interface" (VDI).

Has anyone out there done any work with the Toolkit? Does anyone know
anything about this VDI standard. The standard library has lots of neat
routines for drawing, filling, placing text, scaling, rotating, etc. I
would like to use this toolkit for some serious work, but want to know a
little more about it before investing the time.
