REcent experiences with CAD packages: el cheapo: "ProDesign" from American Small Business Computers of Tulsa. Costs $295 list. Does a creditable job. Compiled basic, requires 512 and is a little slow. Handles plotter well, dot matrix not so well. CadPlan: real fancy, with special bells and whistles for architecture "You want a window here? How big? Done!" Well done manual; requires hardware copy protect device that must be on COM1. Cost $1500 plus options. Fastest screen writing I have ever seen on a 8088 machine. AutoCad: the old reliable. Costs $1000, with 2 $500 extensions avail. large book full of 3rd party add-ons, the one which provides a hook from into dBase III caught my eye. Not copy protected. No dot matrix support. This is the one I chose. James Triplett
