Some of you may recall a public domain program called VDEL.COM that appeared when the PC was still new; I don't know who wrote it, but it was very useful because it allowed you to specify a wild card spec of files and you were queried for which files to delete. Unfortunately, it didn't allow a path name; you had to delete from the current directory. This has irked me for some time, so I have taken advantage of the new Microsoft C V3.0 compilers wild card filespec facilities to build something I call VERASE which allows a wild card file spec to be used and asks the user if he wants to delete each file or not. (This is quite useful when you have dozens of files with similar names, and you don't want to name each one separately. It's also a good practice to get into when deleting files, so that you don't accidentally wipe out stuff in another directory.) It's an aggravation for me get the source from my PC to the VAX that I am connected to USENET through; if you want a copy on a 5.25" single-sided floppy, send me $5. (If you live in California, make sure you include 6% sales tax; I'm not making much money on this, but I don't want a hassle from the State.) Clayton E. Cramer 3601 Parkview Lane #17D Irvine, CA 92715
