[net.micro.pc] Hack for Rainbow

** For the long forgotten line eater **

I have seen several references to HACK in different
newsgroups as to location of sources and .EXE's, but I have
yet to hear exactly what it is! I saw someone mention that
there was a version for the great DEC Rainbow 100, but
somehow I managed to lose the reference that I had.

Can someone please mail me a reference to either a Rainbow
version or a generic MSDOS version? I would like to get a
look at it and would be happy to distribute it to thousands
of Rainbow users in the DEC community!

How many of you have a dying city named after you? :-)

Hack has been uploaded to DECWARE a FIDO BBS in NYC. The number is
(212)-535-8924. It seems to run on a 512K Rainbow but I did not test it
extensively for lack of a Rainbow before uploading it.

Hack (or PC-HACK) is a "hacked up" version of ROGUE, which is
known and "used" by most of the UNIX community. It is a D&D
type game that is quite addictive. PC-HACK has a few enhancements,
some of them are quite nasty (to the unwary player).

It can be downloaded from several FIDO systems on the east coast:

		FIDO#79 - DEC-WARE - 212-535-8924
		FIDO#483- Wash-A-RUG - 703-359-6179

It may be available on other FIDO or other RBBS systems as well.
In library format, the file will take 41 minutes to download
at 1200 baud. You also need at least 256 Kb of memory to play
HACK on your Rainbow. The Rainbow version will supposedly work
on the IBM-PC using ANSI.SYS, but I have no way of confirming that.
