This is a relatively full featured Make program for the IBM PC (and compatibles). It does not have automatic dependancies, but I have never found them all that useful anyway. It does come with a nice program for making a Makefile. We are pretty happy with PolyMake, a straightforward reimplementation of Unix make. It works quite reliably, and handles recursive makes and makes of large makefiles with lots of dependencies quite well. Earlier this year, the authors noticed a horrible bug (it didn't detect failing commands right and would plunge ahead heedless) and sent out free updates to all of their customers. Pretty decent. I only called them for support once, but my question was quickly and competently resolved. From Polytron Corp., PO Box 787, Hillsboro OR 97123, 503-648-8595. They have been advertising a lot in the PC press lately. John Levine, Javelin Software, Cambridge MA 617-494-1400 { decvax!cca | think | ihnp4 | cbosgd }!ima!johnl, Levine@YALE.ARPA
