I recently bought a Shurgart SA604 6.7 meg hard disk for my IBM PC. The drive is fully ST506 compatiable and at $99.00 seemed like a good buy. However the vendor does not supply any software to format the drive. How do I go about getting some software to format the drive with out writting my own? Will the format routine that comes with the advanced diagnostics work? Which controller (Adaptec, Western Digital, ?)? I'm sure someone out there in net land has brought one of these drives up on their PC. The vendor says he's sold 3,500!
