[net.micro.pc] cu bug in Xenix - HELP!

I have come across the same problem.  I can't tell you what causes the
behavior but you can recover by typing -- stty sane<ctl>J -- at the prompt
this should unlock your terminal.  I usually "logout" at this time and log
back in to get my terminal reset to its normal setttings.

PS
I usually get a segmentation violation not a memory fault so you may
have a different problem.
