*** REPLACE THIS LINE WITH YOUR MESSAGE *** Hello pc users Does anyone know how to restore files in dos 3.0 I was using basica (ughh, bletch, choke, forced by employer etc...) I tried to shell something (a print or something) and got dropped out of basica, this is anoying but not the problem I had the code saved under HVC (ie using F2 key, SAVE"HVC). When I got back to basica to reLODE"hvc unfortunatly I punched the SAVE"(HVC) key and proceded to save nothing over my 20k file. Yikes fortunatly I had a fairly recent backup. However I would still like to know if there would have been any way to get all of this file back as nothing else was written over it, other than using debug to read sectors, (How am I supposed to do that when I dont even know which sector its in). It seems that there should be software even in dos3.0 to do this but if not I'd appreciate pointers to anything that could, preferably Public Domain (cheap boss, notice I'm using basic). If there isnt I'll be truely dissapointed (more than usual) in the pc. Please send mail as I usually dont read this net, (Im a mac man) thanks in advance for all your help and service dave uwvax!geowhiz/schuh
