I am about to make some minor enhancements to the Softrans2 package that runs on UNIX. I am running on an Apple-II+ and my host is UNIX Sys V on an AT&T 3B20. If you obtained the Softrans2 package for UNIX from Softronics, and had to make modifications to the software, either to correct bugs or to enhance it, I would appreciate it if you would mail me your version of the source (or a diff listing from the original if you still have it) so that I can consider your changes or enhancements for incorporation into the new version. My main reason for the changes is to provide the capability to have some sort of a "file statistics" capability which would allow UNIX to know what type of file it is downloading to the Apple/PC, and properly set things like file-type, address, length, etc. I currently plan on handling this as a separate file which is created at upload, and accessed (if it exists) at download, but I am open to other more creative suggestions as long as they do not corrupt the file for use by other protocols such as Kermit and Xmodem.
