I'm using the ms-shell program posted to net.sources by Douglas Orr. It seems to work very nicely. However I do have some questions regarding how it interacts with ms-dos. I am using dos 2.11 on an Eagle Turbo PC with an STB color card (with a color monitor), harddisk and a PCmouse. Here goes. When I boot up shell I seem to lose my device drivers. I have in config.sys the following: device = ansi.sys ( I use this with DOS prompt to get color char) device = msmouse.sys ( mouse driver) device = clock.sys (clock card from EAGLE ) From what I can tell I loose my mouse driver and the screen utilities. I tried to use set device = ansi.sys in the \prompt file, but to no avail. Is there a way to still use my mouse and my screen attributes using the ms-shell program ?? Can I execute the ms-shell and then return to DOS without rebooting? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am already looking into providing an active prompt (using MSDOS features and maybe history numbers) but I'm tied up right now.A Thanks in advance...
