[net.micro.pc] Zenith compatibility query

Does anyone have any experience with the NEW Zenith Z-158 series? I am
curious to know if any compatibility problems have cropped up. I have
heard a couple of suggestions that NBI's card will not work in a Z-158,
but the Z-150 was so highly-compatible that I am very skeptical of this
and I'm inclined to suspect user error. So any experience, positive or
negative, especially with expansion cards???

Yes indeed, this is a followup to my own article... I have confirmed
that NBI's card (required for use with their word processor) physically
will not fit into a Z-158. In addition, there are other cards with
known incompatibilities, including one made by Sperry.

The good news is that Zenith is aware of and admits the problem, and is
working to correct it. One reason Z-158s are currently hard to come by
is that Zenith has them on "QC hold" while they are back-fitted to
correct the incompatibilities. The only question I now have is what
Zenith's policy will be for upgrading Z-158s already in the field. I'm
looking into that one...
