[net.micro.pc] Object Code Format - MS-DOS

cjb@ccice2.UUCP (Curtis J. Braun) (10/10/85)

I'm sure that this request has been made before, but...

I would like to design a 8086/8088 based board and
develop the application program on my Eagle Turbo.
Therefore, I am looking for info on either the DOS.obj
format or a locating linker. I can write my own linker
if I can get the .obj info, but I'd rather not. I will also
need a conversion program from the linker output to
Intel hex foramt to download it to my prom burner.

Hence, if any one knows of a linker to make proms with
ASEG, CSEG, and DSEG partitions, and hex formater please
mail response. If you have leads for the object formats for
Desmet C, Lattice C, or Microsoft C, that would also help.

Thanks in advance, Curtis

Somedays, you just gotta break those fingers to make them work....

This question seems to be a popular topic of late. For a good
description of MS-DOS object format, see the latest issue of PC-Tech
Journal.

The current PC Tech Journal (Oct 1985) has an exhaustive article on the
.OBJ format.
