I sat through a lengthy discussion of the Xerox 4045 Laser printer by three Xerox reps. However, I did not actually see the printer in operation. The claim is that the printer can be programmed to interpret various sequences of control codes to control the printer. I guess this means that rather than patching something like WordPerfect or WordStar, it may be possible to have the Xerox 4045 interpret something like HP LaserJet control codes for italics, bold, etc. Can anyone confirm this? If you have any postive nor negative comments, I would be interested in hearing them. The 4045 looks like a good laser printer on paper (no pun intended) but I'd like info from the front lines where people really put it through the paces.
