Has anybody else heard the rumor that MicroPro has produced a disk
with additional printer drivers for WordStar (plain vanilla version;
not WS2000)? Does anybody know what the printers are? Does anybody
know how to go about getting them?

Some of the printers involved are: HP LaserJet (Non proportional fonts) HP ThinkJet IBM Quietwriter IBM Wheelwriter Diablo 630 ECS Further, some matrix printers have been updated and it is possible to patch WS to use hardware bold and underscore. This is difficult, though, and not supported through updates or Tech Support. I am also not prepared to support it here on the net. The disk is only tested for the IBM PC versions of WordStar (3.30, 3.31). Not available for CP/M or Generic MSDOS machines. IT IS IMPORTANT TO GET THE 'JULY 1985' VERSION OF THE PRINTER SUPPORT ENHANCEMENT DISK! THE APRIL VERSION IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!!! The disk was provided to all the MicroPro DEALERS, and it is through the dealers that it should be obtained. You can find a dealer by calling MicroPro updates at 800-227-5609 (Mon-Thu 8:00 - 11:00 & 1:00 - 2:30 Pacific time.) If you don't want to get involved with a dealer, you can update your WordStar to the latest 3.31 (which includes all this stuff) by calling the above number. (Get Conditional Print MailMerge at the same time!) One last alternative: You can DOWNLOAD this printer update material from the MicroPro Forum on CompuServe.
