I need some help figuring out how to use a plotter that has been shared to the network as the output device for a graphics program (IBM Plotting System and Professional Fortran for example). Just enrolling to use the remote plotter as a printer doesn't seem to work.

We have a group on campus that has written such a program. I will check on its availability.

We have an HP Laserjet hooked up on our PC Network (which is a serial printer) and it works fine. We just net share laser=com1. Then if I want to use the laser printer from my station, I just issue a net use lpt1 \\server\laser. My word processing normally prints to lpt1; hence the lpt1 in the net use command. Good Luck.
