[here you go line eater. you got me once, you can get me again] I just noticed that my first posting about the XT mother board changes made it into mod.computers.ibm-pc (or whatever the correct name is). Obviously things are pulled from net.micro.pc and bundled together and placed in this mod group. Anyway, my previous posting gave the final solution to my problem. It wasn't the XT mother board (which really did change) but the hard disk controller. Well today, insult was added to injury. The OMTI controller board had an old BIOS rom on it. So, the conguration jumpers had to be different. Well that did work either. Then I decided to turn the hard drive over and look at the spindle motor. It never did sound right. I turned on the power and watched the motor come up to speed. Then, as soon as it hit speed, it lost power to the motor and the spindle started slowing down. I don't think that this pc wants to ever be put together. :-( -- ihnp4------\ harvard-\ \ Mr. Video seismo!uwvax!nicmad!brown topaz-/ / decvax------/
